Fortress Fungi's Passionate Journey

Director's note:

Curiosity has always been a defining trait of mine. I vividly recall my first attempt at growing button mushrooms at around the age of 12, with many trials & many failures. Since then, the knowledge in this field has evolved dramatically and continues to do so thanks to countless passionate & incredibly driven people.

Throughout my life's journey, I developed a great love for foraging wild mushrooms, embracing the thrill of discovering these natural treasures in their native habitats. Then in 2022, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and realised I wanted to extend my passion for fungi and their fantastic health benefits to others. My initial goal was to help just one person. And with that mission accomplished, I aim to extend that impact and support to as many people as possible.

Fortress Fungi was incorporated in February 2024 and is based in Weymouth, Dorset. What started as a lifelong passion for growing and foraging mushrooms has evolved into something broader: an honest, experience-led resource for anyone curious about fungi and their benefits.

Every guide and review on this site is rooted in hands on knowledge, from choosing the best lion's mane to identifying wild species in the field.

The fungi world is full of noise, overblown health claims, and supplements that don't deliver what they promise. Our job is to cut through that and give you the information you actually need to make good decisions.
